We are always keen to welcome new volunteers, so whether you’re a whizz with spreadsheets, love being social on Facebook, or don’t mind a bit of cleaning or maintenance, then we’d love to hear from you.
Social Media Volunteer
Fresh Start – new beginnings are looking for a social media volunteer to use their passion and knowledge of social media to help promote the work of the charity, our fundraising events and initiatives.
A higher profile will help us raise more funds, recruit more volunteers, which in turn will help us work with more children.
This role would involve volunteering in the office for one day a week and possible posting, tweeting and promoting the charity events as they happen in the office or remotely at a time which suits you.

Fundraising Administrative Volunteers
To provide administrative support to the Fundraising Manager either on a Monday or Tuesday. Key activities will include photocopying, typing letters, updating and creating a database, excel spreadsheets, stuffing envelopes and making telephone calls.
You will have excellent keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Excel.
Fundraising Research Volunteers
Do you have a thing about spreadsheets, enjoy working with Excel? If so, then we are looking for you? Are you free to volunteer on a Monday or Tuesday to research potential supporters, pull together databases working with the Fundraising Manager? This will be a new project for FSNB of which you will be helping us from conception. Excellent knowledge of Excel and word are required.
This is a flexible role which offers you the chance to co oordinate your fundraising around other commitments.
We have collecting pots across Suffolk and Norfolk in local shops, bars, newsagents and restaurants. we are always looking for new opportunities to put more out, as well as reliable volunteers to look after the ones currently distributed. Are you one of Suffolk’s crafters? Do you enjoy sewing, knitting, woodwork etc. We at Fresh start -new beginnings are looking for people who enjoy making items that we can sell at our events this Christmas and next summer. Your creations would be helping us to raise funds and also encourage people to our stand to talk about the work we do. We are regularly invited to attend events across Suffolk and Norfolk. When attending these events, it is an ideal platform for us to promote the work we do and raise vital funds. We are invited to village fetes, fairs, county shows, these are fun events and you get to meet people, and visit parts of Suffolk you may not have been to before. Would this be the role for you?
Store and Supermarket Collectors
Are a big part of what we do, a day’s collection can sometimes rise up to £400, we are looking for volunteers to organise the collections and also the collectors. If you like meeting people, are happy to organise a small rota of volunteers or would like to collect for an hour or two then we would like to hear from you.
Our new friends group in Norwich has been going for a couple of months and we are now looking to establish an Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds group. If you are looking to join a bunch of friendly volunteers to help organise events, social engagements, meet once every 4-6 weeks then please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
We will add you to our volunteer database and then each month send out a list of volunteer opportunities for you to look at, see if you are free and then confirm your attendance by return with details of the events, time, venue and who will be attending with you.
