Kieron Dyer’s book launch raising money for Fresh Start – new beginnings

22nd February 2018

Friday 23rd of February is ex Ipswich town favourite and England footballer Kieron Dyers book launch at Ipswich Town Football Club.

His autobiography Old Too Soon, Smart Too Late’ written with national journalist, Oliver Holt, looks back over Kieron’s career that started at Town’s Academy and took him to the highest level in football.

It’s an open and honest account, with Kieron narrating in uncompromising detail how a generation of talented English footballers, taken out of working class childhoods and presented with a world of fame and fortune failed to cope with the riches that were presented to them and often fell apart.

Kieron also talks openly about the sexual abuse he suffered as a teenager from his great uncle Kenny.

Fresh Start – new beginnings are so grateful to Kieron after he announced that he will be donating half the proceeds from this fantastic event to us.  David Hockley, who will be attending the event along with Diana Porter MBE said ” he hopes Kierons bravery in speaking out about his own abuse will encourage other children who have suffered sex abuse to come forward.”
