The Sky’s The Limit When Fundraising For A Good Cause

5th September 2016

That’s the message from the team at CF Social Work as members of their team prepare to jump out of a plane this week in a planned fundraising event.

Denise Holland, Logistics Officer and Anton Clarke, Team Leader, are the two brave members of staff who volunteered for the challenge. The pair have raised funds for the events through sponsorship and activities including Cake Bakes, and are now mentally prepared for the big jump this week.

Denise said ‘this is a really important cause for us to support and I advocated for us adopting Fresh Start New Beginnings as our charity for the year. A lot of the children and young people we support are affected by these issues and it is essential that the good work the charity does can continue.’

Anton added “this is a great local charity supporting children and young people in our community. I am having nightmares about jumping out of an aeroplane but a lot of people have sponsored us and I am not going to let them down.”

The fundraising parachute event will take place this Wednesday at Beccles Airfield, and follows a recent SkyDive by another local company, My Ruby, who are also raising monies for Fresh Start – new beginnings.

Nina Clark, CQC registered manager, said that staff at CF Social Work had voted for Fresh Start – new beginnings as their charity of the year. Nina said, ‘we were delighted to be supporting Fresh Start – new beginnings this year. We work with lots of young people, and the subject of child sexual abuse is important to all of us. We hope that the monies we raise will be used by the charity to enable them to continue with the work they do to support children who have been affected by sexual abuse. Our Directors Cheryl and Kris Finlayson feel very strongly that we should have a local charity of the year and can think of no better organisation to receive our support in 2016.’
