How does it work?Fresh Start New Beginnings offers a variety of resources and support through the community chaplaincy project to assist you with resettling before and after you are released from custody. You will be visited by someone from the project who will ask you some questions. This will help us identify the areas of support you may need. MENTOR - If required, a mentor will work with you for 3 months before your release date and up to 12 months following release. Together you will put together a work plan to assist you in your rehabilitation. They will meet you on your day of release from prison to offer help and support from the outset. HOUSING - If there are housing needs the project will work closely with agencies in an attempt to secure accommodation in time for your release. You will need to attend a 'Good Tenants Course' to show your commitment to our landlords. EMPLOYMENT - We have contacts who are willing to offer work for ex-prisoners. We will work with you to access employment opportunities and where necessary assist with CV writing and identify other areas of support. |
